On this Thanksgiving Day, I think it is appropriate to recognize and appreciate a tradition that was born out of the ultimate sacrifices made by those that came before us to give us the freedom that we enjoy today in America.  That tradition is playing the Star Spangled Banner at public events. It was started after our victory in WWI.  At public gatherings all across this nation, whether it be a county fair, pee wee league baseball game, rodeo, or NFL football game, we honor our freedom and those who died to give it to us with the playing of the National Anthem.
