Only been able to view the box score, but FWIW, I think FGCU was a very bad matchup for us since our weaknesses this season are guard defense, perimeter defense, and the ability to launch a high volume of three pointers. Given all that, I'm pretty happy with a 20-point win.
I also think Jones's hero ball works best against a (much) smaller team like FGCU, and suspect Tara gave her the green light, and Jones wants to make amends for the SCAR game. And FWIW, in my view, the reason she wasn't finding success against SCAR with those same moves around the paint is that SCAR has legitimate height (and even more impressively, length) inside, and she was simply denied again and again.
Part of the reason why Jones dominated in HS in a way she hasn't in college is that her moves and her height are almost impossible to counter unless you have highly mobile/agile post players. The only player I can recall who's under 6' and has really owned Jones defensively was Bendu Yeaney from Arizona last season. Otherwise, teams need height and length to keep Jones from being Jones, and I'm guessing FGCU was lacking it today.
