It's a lot different to assign someone to guard a big player like Prechtel or Brink. A quick guard can perhaps disrupt passes in, but is going to have trouble with high passes, and with actually guarding the 3pt shot attempt. If you assign a big player to guard her, you've reduced your ability to clog the lane, to block shots by others that may drive the basket, and to pull down rebounds.
Prechtel may not be the best athlete on the floor but she has developed an aspect of her game that makes her an uncommon asset that has helped the team in important situations. She's a smart player, and plays team ball.
Brink is a splendid athlete for her size. She has been developing this aspect of her game and I'm sure it will serve her well.
One problem with this is that on offense, we often have 5 players on the 3pt arc and none crash the boards when the 3pt shot goes up. As a result, we don't get as many offensive rebounds as might be expected for our height.
And Haley is really the only threat with the mindset and dribble control to take it to the hoop. (Bosgana may prove to be a second person on the team willing and able to do that.)
