A statistical analysis is hard because one player’s +/- is dependent on both who else is on the court and who the opponent is.  It is a crude measurement, but does tell you a bit on how the team does when a particular player is on the floor.

Yeah, I get that. It might be a bit more interesting if the data were solid enough to look at how certain combinations of players (any number between 2 and 5, I suppose) performed. But yes BC too many moving parts involved.
