Well, I posted too late and didn't give Tara enough time before the Utah game to take my suggestion that Jones be moved to the 4, but happy that she was able to follow my advice before CU game. :)
Liked your comments alum81. However, you shouldn't fret about Ashten or Kiki. Ashten often misses her first 3 pt attempt. It's hard to come off the bench after sitting long and nail from distance. If we want her threes more, she needs more time on the floor. Her D has been oustanding agst. bulky posts. Kiki will be all right. Frankly I thought from the start of the season, she hasn't looked as sharp as the flashes from last year. My real concern for her is that she needs to play more physical. She's slight so agst some posts it will be a challenge. But she can do so if she puts her mind to it. And with our plethora of posts, she doesn't have to worry about fouling.
Refs who did mens game vs OSU did a fine job - one of the best I've seen with our teams involved this year.
The move didn't exactly "unleash" Haley's O: 5 for 16 from the field, 1 for 2 from the line, 11 points. Her recent shooting woes persist (except for 10 of 17 FGAs against Utah). In the last 5 games, she's 27 of 76 from the field (35%, vs. shooting 45% from the field on the season). (In contrast, on D Haley grabbed a remarkable total of 18 rebounds.)
My thinking on this is about getting another ballhandler (and outside shooter) on the court to combat the packing in strategy. Haley is so versatile that it really doesn't matter what position she is supposedly assigned. This takes away from 2 bigs approach sI wouldn't think it good to do so for most or all of the game, just enough to force opposing Ds to adjust and have to face a different look.
