Unsurprisingly, I support the thoughts expressed in this article. The last paragraph is particularly on point IMO.

As I have said for months, it is a good idea to train Ukrainian aviators to fly F-16s even though they may not ever get them. They have aviators with no aircraft, and they have recruits that want to fly. Training takes time and some of the candidates will undoubtedly "wash out". This should have started last summer, so that if/when the US/NATO does decide to supply aircraft they can be of immediate use and catch the Russians at a disadvantage.
