While the focus has been understandably been on kickoff times for away games, moving to the ACC could also be detrimental with respect to home games.  The recent west coast defections to the Big Ten/Fox left ESPN with zero inventory in the Pacific time zone. (I understand that Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings, but that's only two schools that are considered ESPN inventory). Recent history suggests that all home games would kickoff at 7pm or later. (Of Stanford's seven games on Fox or ESPN last season, only one kicked off prior to 7pm.) Perhaps that would be tempered by hosting east coast schools, but there's no reason to believe ESPN would be altruistic and give up their "4th time slot". 

There's a real chance that an ACC move could result in 9am/10am road games and 7pm/8pm home games. It would be frustrating to be a part of coast-to-coast conference and have virtually all of the games played at a time when entire time zones are either eating breakfast or fast asleep.

Oh, we'd be playing late night games if we were in the Big Ten, too. I think Oregon and Washington are underestimating how many of their home games will now be in that late window. USC might be mostly spared on that front, but that'll be UCLA's lot in life, too. Lots and lots of Pac-12 after dark on the way, just formally in other conferences. 

And yeah, as you allude to, the Arizona schools are sort of ESPN inventory, too. (As I understand it, the Big 12 deal sees more than 60% of the inventory going to ESPN.) So, we might get the occasional afternoon home game if ESPN would rather see, say, ASU-Baylor on ESPN and Cal-Wake Forest on ESPN2 in the late night slot.
