Not a surprise four of the schools oppose with travel and limited financial benefit added being potential reasons.  Rational IMO, albeit bad for Stanford.

Big Ten while the remotest of possibilities remains my preference due to historical rivalries and proximity.

While I would say, Stanford and Cal have the support of 11 schools.  We will probably know the answer by Tuesday when the next deadline arrives.
