The current ACC rowing scene is led by Virginia, a resurgent Syracuse, and Duke. Stanford won the championship last year, and kal is historically strong though currently in a rebuilding phase. SMU wins their tiny conference every year for an automatic championship bid, but they are actually fast, and all three programs entering the ACC would probably push Duke out of the NCAAs, and maybe Syracuse too.
Mrs. Mick met a few Stanford rowing recruits in Palo Alto the other day. She said they looked as if they stepped off of a SoCal beach. Entire family tall and athletic. Sounded excited about the prospects of rowing for Stanford. Also looking at Harvard and Princeton.
