The 49ers just made room salary wise for Bosa.  Lance to Dallas for a 4th round pick

Really hate trading Lance to Dallas when Niners could have had Micah Parsons instead of Lance.

Wait. What?!? Weren't you leading the "Niners couldn't have improved their team if they hadn't picked Trey" parade just yesterday? Didn't I suggest they could have had Micah for half the price? Good lord.

Did I say I would have taken Parsons instead of a QB? No, I did not. And for the record, I wanted Justin Fields. But I have never thought the Lance trade and pick was a bad choice at the time.

I don't like trading Lance to Dallas for a 4th rd pick, especially because if they didn't trade for Lance they could have taken Parsons not giving up any picks. But again, they couldn't afford more first rd picks anyway. They had to get rid of some of them so they could afford more proven players.

Pure speculation.  We will never know how the draft would have played out had the Lance trade not occurred.  To suggest Parsons would have been available at #12 is unknown.  Besides, hindsight is a waste of time. You get one chance to make a decision. You make it, you live with it. No looking back. No what if’s…….

Regardless, I like the trade with Dallas.  They treated Lance fairly by sending him to a good team, they got a decent choice in return and they helped their cap situation a bit (not much - still lots of dead money this year and next).
