I  vote for a creation of a satellite campus in Central or Eastern Time zone to house athletes for their competitive seasons.

Honestly it isn't a crazy idea at all, although I wouldn't limit it to athletes.  Maybe a semi-permanent, small campus in Texas or in DC or something which would be fulsome enough to allow both athletes and non-athletes to take a variety of classes, but not a full campus or anything close to it.  Would make things easier on the athletes for certain.  It seems like an odd thing to do, but then again joining the ATLANTIC coast conference, while the most sensible thing to do under the circumstances, is also an odd thing to do objectively, and may call for other oddities to make it more workable for our impacted students.

[Didn't Stanford alums invent and commercialize a lot of the enabling technologies?]  
There is a small Stanford campus in WDC for hosting seminars and some interns. 
So, some kind of "Hopkins Marine Station" and Tele-Research facility in NC?   
Research Triangle Park would be logical for Environmental Data Processing Center... 

Do an 8-9 day swing to the East Coast and play a couple games.  Save on travel / time zone shift. 

We ARE a NATIONAL Univ (actually Global).  Frankly ORST and WAST are not.  That's just the case.

Oh.  So that makes them getting f——d ok?  I’m not blaming Stanford, mind you.  But this whole thing stinks to high heaven.  And it will get worse.

I’m glad Stanford and Cal found a soft landing.  But again… This is a failure of the system.  The only way to have stopped this was university presidents getting off their ass and actually doing something very early on. Making it clear that these are extra curricular activities and we’re simply not going to allow it. But that didn’t happen so here we are. Because, of course, money talks, bullshit walks.
