IMO, people should remember the good things David Shaw did at Stanford rather than the bad things, and move on.

So you want to go all Mark McGwire on us  or something?  In the immortal words of our oft-beleaguered commander-in-chief:"C'mon, man!"  Hey, If you choose to airbrush and mentally redact all the "bad" stuff, (which really isn't "bad", strictly speaking) good for you. "Move on", indeed, as you advise. However, big-time coaches, particularly the royally prosperous and wealthy ones, are not, repeat NOT, entitled to unconditional, eternal adoration.  I will tip my visor to our former coach. But I will not give him a pass on brainfarts, negligence, or let him slide. Hey, I raised more than my share of toasts to Stanford HCs over the decades who gave us all "Two Tickets to Paradise". But I also paid for the privilege and the airfare and the hotel suites to get myself in position to raise those jars.  I will gripe and rake and excoriate to my heart's content, too, when the moment calls for it. It comes with the territory. Coach(es) know that. They are richly compensated as well.
