Berger actually missed 8 games last season, but Indiana still went 7-1 in those games. Their only loss in that stretch was a narrow 5 point loss to Michigan State. Holmes had 31 pts and 12 rebounds in that game. I'd like to think it was Stanford's play, not Berger's absence that was the difference. But we'll see how IU does later this month against Tennessee and Princeton.(11-13-2023, 07:30 PM)old spanish trail Wrote: Great game. One of the most interesting things to me was how absolutely pedestrian Indiana looked. Berger graduating may have a larger impact than I anticipated, but still...Agree 100%. Their All American Holmes looked lost, unconfident, intimidated, fumbly...I mean 0 and 0 at half? They were clearly not ready to play. That said, they missed sooo many wide open 3's. Game would have been closer had they knocked down a few of those and they have a bunch of good shooters. We were fortunate they were off. I hope we improve our perimeter D before the season starts. It was pretty rough.
