The Russians have a presidential election in March. Tempting fate by running against Putin, Boris Nadezhdin is the anti-war candidate. He's spoken out against the war and has publicly stated that Russia should court Western investment and should reopen dialogue with America and Europe again.
He's not technically on the ballot yet. He worked for Putin for years and knows him. Putin's best-known opponent, Alexei Nevalny, is serving multiple sentences amounting to more than 30 years at a remote penal colony in the Artic Circle.
I hope Mr. Nadezhdin is avoiding tall buildings with open windows.
