One of the talking heads noted that "Brock Purdy does not like to throw a wet ball." True. No one does, nor did his counterpart who had thrown one interception in the last nine games but threw two interceptions tonight. Purdy looked more spray-armed than Mike Cordova tonight. 

I thought the Niners were going to run tonight. Green Bay has a terrible run defense. SF ran 24 times for 111 yards, 4.6 ypc. McCaffrey was 17 carries for 98 yards, 5.8 ypc, 2 TDs, with a 39 yard run. Mason could have run tonight.

SF defense was okay tonight. They held Green Bay to two touchdowns and two field goals in five red zone trips. Ambry Thomas was terrible, two PI calls, and SF had six penalties for 83 yards against GB's one penalty for five yards. Greenlaw had two interceptions. Special teams were marginal. Moody had a 52 yard field goal on a wet, rainy night, but then had a short field goal blocked. Wishnowsky did well punting, high average.

Brock was 23/39, 252 yards, 1 TD, no INT, 86.7 rating. Jordan Love was 72.4 passer rating. It was so wet out tonight that Purdy actually took his passing hand off the ball in the middle of a play to wipe his passing hand on his pants.

This game was a prime example of why I don't like "4th quarter comebacks" as "proof" of a quarterback's skill. Purdy was terrible all night. They were behind 21-14 going into the fourth quarter and scored 10 points, but they were behind because Purdy was playing poorly. And McCaffrey ran for two TDs. And while I'm ranting, Montana gets credit for "The Catch", but he'd thrown three interceptions prior to "the Catch." If Montana'd known how to "throw" they wouldn't need to have "The Catch."
