Fwiw, it sounded to me like this was just a debate over when the debate would take place and Orban’s party boycotted the accelerated timeline the opposition wanted. I agree that’s playing politics, but I am not sure I interpret it as a sign that accession won’t pass.

I agree it will eventually pass. The question is when. FWIW the Fidesz leader in the legislature is on record opposing Sweden's membership. The opposition parties are, for better or worse, making this a declared political issue. That is pushing Fidesz into a reflexive opposition that may not have been part of Orban’s original agenda. It could be "a while" before this all settles out. It could also be settled quickly if Orban can spin it as a "win" for his party. IMO it won't be quick, because all the Hungarian parties are playing politics.
