A discharge petition is a threat, not a viable strategy to give timely aid to Israel or Ukraine. If the Democrats were to file a petition now, it’d be June before the legislation passed.

And that is assuming, of course, that they can get half a dozen Republicans to sign the petition, which is not a foregone conclusion.

The ball is in Mike Johnson's court, for now.

Now only 4 GOP votes needed (absent defections by Democrats).  I'll forego predictions in the interest of keeping the peace on this board.
