Question:  Is there an appreciable difference between a #1 seed and a #2 seed? Leftcoast has it right in the other thread - this is all about matchups, which means a lot of this is luck and having other teams take out teams you can't take out. I think there is also a pretty good blueprint on how to beat Stanford for teams with enough talent. If the difference is between being the fourth overall (#1 seed) and 5th overall (#2 seed), the difference is mostly the color of uniform you wear in the regional final if chalk prevails, right?

Yes there is with respect to the Sweet Sixteen matchup.  The potential 3 seeds (Notre Dame, UConn, NC State, Oregon State) are much more dangerous than the potential 4 seeds (Virginia Tech, Gonzaga, Indiana, Kansas State).
