It is obviously Cameron Brink's right to enter the WNBA draft if she sees fit to do so. However, I believe that the desirability of herr doing so at this juncture is open to question.
IMO, Brink is ready NOW to play good, fruitful D (including blocking and rebounding) in the WNBA. But, at this juncture, there are two things that I believe she still needs to develop to be able to make an impact on O in the pros, things that she could have focused on if she had stayed for her senior year at Stanford.
1. She needs to become a lot stronger if she's not going to be easily pushed around by other bigs; She may have trouble gaining and maintaining position in the low block.
2. She needs a reliable jump shot or hook to use within 6-8 feet of the basket. If you look at how Brink has scored her points when she's in the low post, she usually relies on taking a dribble or two, culminating in a quick, often contorted spin-move layup, frequently while losing her balance or falling to the floor (either from contact or to draw an "and 1." foul shot). I believe it would make Brink a much more potent and effective offensive force in the pros if she had a reliable turnaround jumper (like Iriafin's) or hook shot in her arsenal. (Yes, her emerging three-point shot should help her if she winds up as a 4.)
Best of luck to CB for great success in the pro game. She clearly had a fabulous three-year career at Stanford.
