I wanted Haase gone as much as anyone, but not waiting until today to do it feels unnecessarily mean in retrospect. It's not like there was misconduct or something.
I would not be surprised if he was told before this tournament. His courtside interview after the first round miracle comeback was understated and matter-of-fact. I remarked that this doesn't seem like a coach excited for the next game. I wonder how the players were informed. Did Haase simply walk in after the game and inform the team that he had coached his last game at Stanford?
