I have no confidence that Muir will hire the right coach.  None.  Should have fired Haase and hired Madsen when he had the chance.

There was general consensus that Muir made a good choice in hiring Haase. A successful coach with a pedigree of being part of successful programs. Someone who understood the Stanford environment and culture. Energetic and enthusiastic with the team and with the external community.

I believe that Muir is going to hire someone we will view as a good get under the circumstances.

The issue with Muir has been his hesitancy to act at the back end as results decline and fans become indifferent.

I am not interested in hiring an up and coming young guy who turns things around and then leaves for the really big dollars elsewhere.

I would be thrilled if this happened. In the last 70 or so years of Stanford basketball only one coach left Stanford after a winning season - Mike Montgomery.

Ummm, Trent Johnson…

smh. Duh, yes of course, I missed Johnson.

But Stanford has no history of being a stepping stone program for young and successful coaches to move to higher profile gigs. I would be thrilled for a new coach to come in and do so well that he was hired by a higher profile program. I just want to enjoy some Stanford men's hoops success!
