Haase did a nice job with the high end recruits but given the difficulty of retaining such recruits for the long run that was overrated. His overall recruiting otherwise was not very good. I have data demonstrating this if folks are interested but the idea Haase was a great recruiter is an the exaggeration. And in addition to his median recruit/typical players being a bit below the Stanford norm, he struggled with retention.
