“When [Stanford] plays us, they take our weakness and use it against us, attacked it, killed it. They did something we had never seen them do before. [VanDerveer] has changed stuff up over the years. She has a lot of versatility in her offense with different players. Different adjustments she makes in game, and when I’ve watched them, she’s smart. Obviously. If I’m going to put something in someone’s hands, it would be her.”

“She has been fairly innovative over the years — running the triangle, Golden State stuff, Princeton. I feel like she’s always at the curve or ahead of it.”
