Stanford gets UC Irvine (defeated top 4 seed UCLA in the NCAA tournament last year), perennial local power Santa Clara, and former conference foes and recent Final Four teams Washington State and USC. And that's just non-conference.
In the ACC, Stanford misses defending national champ Florida State and Clemson (both top 4 national seeds last year) but gets UNC and Notre Dame. Add in Pitt (NCAA qualifier eliminated by Florida State) and Wake Forest (undefeated at home last year).
This looks like a typical challenging schedule with cross-country road trips exchanged for road trips at altitude in SLC and Boulder.
Notice that Stanford does not even leave the state of California for non-conference matches.
