Muir's replies to the questions he was asked consisted primarily of cliches, expressions of thanks to his bosses, and vanilla optimism about Stanford in the ACC. (One useful nugget was that he predicted that football games against Notre Dame were likely to continue.) Too bad he wasn't asked some tough questions, such as "Who are the parties most to blame for the demise of the Pac-12?", "Did Stanford make a protracted and vigorous effort to preserve the Pac-12, even after USC and UCLA said they were leaving?" "What did you think of the way the women's basketball season ended?", and "Why did it take so long before you decided to replace Haase when he hadn't been to the Dance since he was hired?" I'm sure there are much better and more provocative questions Muir could have been asked but I suppose Troy can't ask them or else he'll risk losing access in the future. So, he steered free of controversy, limited himself to marshmallow questions, and, predictably, was given innocuous and uninformative answers.
Thank you for listening!
