So may not be related to her ACL recovery (other than perhaps she's been overcompensating by putting more stress on her right knee). Anyway, I don't think we have the information to know whether this might impact her long-term prospects. It's a bummer that she's missing out on another major tournament though. Her USWNT career was delayed due to the naturalization requirements and she's now missed the World Cup and the Olympics due to injury. Casual fans don't realize what an incredibly impactful player she is (or at least can be when healthy).(07-12-2024, 12:07 PM)Maple Leaf Wrote:(07-12-2024, 11:28 AM)Nan3cy Wrote: Just saw a report that Macario won’t play in the Olympics due to a knee injury.

That’s a bummer on a couple of levels. It’s unfortunate she still isn’t all back. I do start worrying about the long term some now. Two, Lynn Williams is the replacement and it’s not really like for like. She is a good player, but is a pure winger and doesn’t help the midfield. It definitely hurts the USWNT, but with only 18 players you can’t take a chance on a roster spot on a player with an injury.
