As you may have heard, there is some controversy about drug testing, with China complaining they are being tested much more frequently.
I noticed this article about the testers showing up at 5:45AM to test French swimmer Marchand but the testers went to where they thought he was in the Olympic village, but his team had previously notified that he was staying elsewhere that night.
That article lead me to this SwimSwam article in which a Chinese swimmer comments on the frequency of testing and asserting that the Chinese swimmers are clean. I am not suggesting anything, but the article does mention one of the swimmers I previously mentioned as having an amazing improvement in the middle of this Olympics. Here's what that swimmer says about testing. (The "almost 200 tests [in 10 days]" and "5-7 testers[sic] per day" don't seem to add up.) It makes me wonder about reasons for that improvement.

The NY Times daily newsletter talked about some of the doping allegations against the Chinese, with some comments from Katie Ledecky.
Quote:When a reporter asked Katie Ledecky, the American swimming great, whether she trusted that the competition in Paris was fair, her response was not enthusiastic. “We’re going to race whoever’s in the lanes next to us, and we’re not the ones paid to do the testing. So we hope that the people that are, follow their own rules,” she said.
But, Ledecky added, “We want to see some change for the future so that you don’t have to ask us that question.”
