Something is happening in Kursk, but unclear exactly what.
Ukrainian sources claim (and Russian sources support) a pretty decent chunk of land and captured POWs, in addition to two helos and several vehicles destroyed. Ukraine has lost a Buk and some IFVs. Seems the Russian defensive lines are pretty much paper thin along most of their border. Will Ukraine retreat soon after a raid, as they have before, or try to dig in and hold Russian territory for a while?
Much initial consternation from many informed Ukrainian observers that this was a waste of resources with a ragged, retreating Ukrainian defense in Donetsk. However the tune has changed a bit today as Russia seems to be really scrambling to get a hold of things.
