I agree on your ACC point, CC. Let them tout this as the ACC has not been in this position before.    

I wouldn't mind the Pac12 putting out a final count on it's website touting the Pac12's dominance in medal count in Paris.  It would be a nice way to go out on top!    I'm still hoping some version of the Pac12 returns in the next few years for all/most sports as the travel for our teams/students is not going to be easy.

I hope so. I believe that OSU and WSU have until the summer of 2026 to reconstitute the Pac-12 which means they would need plans in place by next summer at the latest. This would likely include the best six MWC teams (Boise State, Air Force, SJSU, UNLV, Wyoming, Fresno State) and dropping the unattractive members (Hawaii, San Diego State, Colorado State, Utah State, Hawaii, New Mexico) and possibly Memphis and UTSA from the AAC. OSU and WSU received a $65 million settlement from the Pac-12, but that would be eaten up by poaching penalties if they directly solicited MWC teams; e.g., $67.5 million to poach the top six schools. They need a minimum of eight schools to form a conference. Or maybe reverse-merge the MWC conference into the Pac-12 (or rebrand it as the Pac-12). The Pac-12 still has some cachet.
