As a whole, these transactions don’t move the needle to MLB Top 5 status but the free agency market is just so-so this year.  Therefore, I think we can only hope for a marginal improvement.  Of course, that might be enough to sneak into a wild card spot.  And with the Giants starting pitching being the strength of the team, anything is possible once the playoffs begin.

You are correct, make the playoffs and anything is possible. However, given the Giants offense it is very possible they could be the first team in playoff history to lose four straight playoff games by one run in the 10th inning.
