Jon Heyman of Bleacher Report compares it to the Derek Jeter hire, and claims that at least one insider said that Posey had almost nothing to do with the Chapman signing...which is exactly what both Buster and Boras said. Heyman is not a fan of the deal, and pointed out the blindingly obvious, that Buster needs to hire a GM with experience...which, again, Buster has stated that he will do.

I’m thinking Bochy has a slightly better understanding than Heyman. 

 And the Jeter comparison doesn’t hold water. Jeter took over a bottom end franchise that is historically incredibly cheap. He had no real ties to that organization. 

They are completely different situations.

Law. I stopped listening/reading him a long time ago. Never met a Dodger prospect that he didn’t like. He’s also a big time analytics guy. Half of them are hurt that there’s even the potential that somebody besides a mathematician can potentially run a baseball team.
