$3.5M is worth the price of dumping Flores…

That's the speculation...keeping in mind that he was injured all of last year and the year prior his line was .284/.355/.509/.864. and a 137+ OPS, by far the best on the team. Second best was Late Night LaMonte Wade, and the two of them made a perfect lefty/righty tandem at first base with the fifth best WAR by position (1B) across all of MLB.

Big screw up with Manaea, imo. He was jerked around between start and bullpen, didn't like it but kept his mouth shut, liked SF, but went to the Mets instead for $ and starting job. Now, he looks pretty good to everyone, but will cost alot more than SF would have had to shell out to keep him.

He was having a little bit of a tough time starting. My son and I traveled down to San Diego to watch the G's play the P's and Sean started. In two innings he gave up five runs, four earned, and didn't get either of the first two batters out in the third inning. He faced 15 batters and gave up five htis and four walks, and when they took him out (mercifully), he was clearly furious and threw his glove on top of the dugout. A fan had to retrieve it. Manaea's season ERA at that point was 7.85. 

To show you how long ago that was, Thairo Estrada had four hits in five ABs and was batting .350 on the season.

And speaking of the 2023 team, Joc Pederson has opted out of a $14 million contract with the D'Backs. His line was .275/.393/.515/.908, a 151 OPS+. He led the league in getting HBP, 18 times.
