A big factor should be the conference opponents each faced. Stanford usually had at least 3 or 4 other good teams in the conference while Yukon sometimes faced one or two decent conference opponents.
The Huskies went 139–0 in AAC conference play from 2014-2020.
During which period they also went to the Final Four every one of those years (as well as a few seasons before and after). Point being, sure they might not have gone undefeated in another conference … but they very possibly might have as well.
For our conference schedule, from 2009 to 2013, we went 68-0 as well and from the '08-'09 season to the '13-'14 season, we were a combined 105-3.
UConn also regularly schedules tough non-conference opponents, from 2014 to 2020, they almost annually played Stanford, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Baylor, Texas, and Maryland, among others.
