The Russians are now officially claiming sabotage. It may very well have been, as Ukraine has demonstrated an uncanny ability to arrange bombs to be planted in very unlikely places. There are also many "other" players that may have reasons not to let that cargo go to its final destination. However, it seems beyond belief that Russia has conducted an investigation of what caused the explosions. They would need divers and all kinds of support craft to actually investigate what exploded and why. The Russian (and unfortunately the Ukrainian as well) military does not religiously follow protocols for safe storage and transport of explosive materials. Russian ship engine maintenance also has proven erratic. Hard to rule out some kind of accident.
