First, I think Ramos and Lee are locks to start in LF and CF. Secondly, I think defensive ability will be a significant factor that Posey will consider before making any deals. Since SF already has a Gold Glove finalist playing RF, any player who is under consideration to replace him on a regular basis needs to be, at least, a quality defender. As we know, RF at Oracle is not an easy position to play.
Excluding five games played by Rooker, none of the players in the group you listed have major league RF experience. And, as a whole, they have substandard outfield defensive stats.
Quite frankly, the more I think about, the more I realize that replacing Yaz via trade might not be a good idea. Most guys who are possibilities would be a lot like Yaz offensively and a poor copy of him defensively. Why not just keep the incumbent?
If there is going to be a change in RF, I think we may need to pin our hopes on Matos or one of the other young guys breaking through like Ramos did in 2024.
Burnes - The article made a lot more sense than the blaming the inability to sign him due to tax considerations. IMO, the tax issue is a non-starter. Teams based in CA. can easily address that through increasing the salary incrementally. Heck, the Dodgers never have problems signing guys they want.
Alonso - Just say no to the Polar Bear. Too much money for too little return. Put that money to use by signing Flaherty.
