The article is mostly sourced from Ukrainian officials, so they will have their point of view. They are labeled as “Ukrainian official”.
I don’t think the factual basis is much in dispute; I do think there were multiple different versions of a deal on offer, which is why you at once see Ukrainians reject outright (one version of the) deal and negotiate (over a different version). Of course, whether the characterization of the deals as “bad” and “disastrous” is accurate is, of course, a matter of opinion, but I don’t doubt that the deals on offer are at best a bitter pill to swallow from a Ukrainian perspective. No question one person’s bitter pill is another’s life-saving medicine, and we do have American sources telling their counterparts that they should take the deal.
