OK, for a change of pace a hockey trivia question.

As many undoubtably know, Alex Ovechkin just broke Wayne Gretzky's career goal scoring record, with his 895th career goal a couple days ago.  Gretzky scored his 894 goals in 1,487 games.  How many games did it take Ovechkin to break Gretzky's record?

That has to be one of the amazing statistical anomalies in hockey history.

Yup, Ovechkin tied Gretzky's record in exactly one fewer game, and beat it the very next game (ie, got the record in the exact same number of games).  As you point out, that is perhaps one of the most amazing statistical coincidences.
