I'm sure I did! Just as I am sure I've missed some great baseball over the last twenty years of pretty much not watching it, even though I watched as much baseball as I could growing up abroad (fortunately, in baseball loving Venezuela). I'm sure I missed some tremendous rugby in the recently completed six nations cup... but I just never got into rugby. The reason people watch sports is because almost regardless of the specific sport, it can produce amazing feats of athleticism, wonderful drama, and great storylines. That will never change.
And yet... despite my inability to wean myself from this board, and my continued curiosity over many of Stanford's storylines, I gotta say that my interest in watching collegiate sports just ain't there any more. Once my daughter graduates or loses interest in volleyball, I may be completely done.

I wouldn't be so sure. Tribal validation is the other big reason people watch sports, and it's a helluva drug......
Those who have seen the first season of Game of Thrones will recall when Tyrion Lannister is about to be forced to serve as a defendant in a trial by combat, and he invokes the law of Westeros to appoint a champion to represent his cause. That's much of what sports is, without the trial by combat part...... Our sports teams are the champions we appoint to validate our tribes.
