Baseball Trivia, Rocky start edition:

As of yesterday, the Rockies were 6-28, putting them 17.5 games out of first place.  Only 1 team has had a worse 34-game start (and, shockingly it was not last year’s White Sox, who started 3-22, but won 5 of its next 9 games to end up at 8-26 at this point in the season).  Who were they?

Who holds the record for worst single season winning percentage?

Is the answer to both questions the 1962 Mets?

It is the answer to neither.  The 34 game loser is more recent and the season-wide loser is older.  The 1962 Mets wound up 40-120 (.250) but there have been two worse teams in modern history.  Also, I should specify that I'm thinking of the modern era for the season wide most losing team.  The 1899 Cleveland Spiders were 20-134 (.134), but let's keep it to teams since 1900.
