Not sure these meetings have really made any progress. Unless and until Putin feels some consequences, it is nothing to him to keep feeding his soldiers into the meat grinder.
Giving Putin the heavily fortified regions of Donetsk that Ukraine still controls in exchange for a promise is not a serious proposal for peace. Would just weaken Ukraine and give Russia an easier path to their war aim of a vassal Ukraine. Putin has not kept his promises before which is why we are in this mess.

The Gallup poll showed 70% of Ukrainians favor a negotiated settlement but the question did not specify what if any territory would be lost.
When different negotiated settlements are polled with their details, support is much lower.
