By the way, the answer to the earlier question of longest World Series game before Monday’s was also an 18 inning Game 3 affair between the Dodgers and an AL East team, back in 2018, against the Red Sox, which also featured a Dodger win with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th.

Snell, by the way, had allowed 1 HR in the 50 innings over 8 starts going into tonight’s game. Then he allowed two HR’s in his first three pitches.

You have to wonder how "on" Snell is after pitching just 61 1/3 innings in 2025 and just 65 innings last year. Still, his 2.35 ERA would have been second best in MLB, if he'd had enough innings to meet the minimum.
BTW, Snell is the MLB career leader in strikeouts per nine innings at 11.2. His career high was 12.5 with the G's in 2024.
I saw that Logan Webb had a nice year, finishing 15-11. Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) he led the NL in 2025, tied for the fewest wins to lead the National League over the course of a full season (not including 1981, 1994 or 2020).
