Yeah, the committee can deviate from RPI, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them see the SEC champs ahead of Texas, which, as you pointed out, lost twice to Kentucky (and once to A&M). And, by winning the ACC and closing with a road win over Louisville, we might avoid the dreaded 4th #2 seed. Also, Kentucky is the only #1 seed we haven’t played, assuming Pitt gets the 4th #1 seed (right now ASU is a smidgen ahead of Pitt, but Pitt beat ASU head-to-head, and ASU has no top-10 wins).
