-I honestly don't think, overall, the bad calls went against us with too much disparity. Several times when we got a really lousy whistle the refs clearly compensated within a few possessions. And I hate to say it, but most of the fouls on Agara (minus the last one) and Somfai really WERE fouls.

to my eyes the bad call disparity was concentrated in offensive fouls. the announcers commented on this, and kate protested forcefully: yes, nunu and lara were pushing off, so the foul calls were fair. problem is that when unc repeatedly pushed off at least as strongly (shay was shoved 10' to the ground), the refs said play on.

i, too, thought i saw make-up calls, but those didn't bring nunu back in the game (turns out we did fine without her, but still...)

Basically agree with everything you're saying! I didn't object to the calls we got, just some of the ones they didn't, as you say. But I also just think they had two experienced and savvy back to basket bigs, and we don't (Nunu has great moves but she's just too short to really excel), so we were resorting to fouling more when trying to get space, whereas they could maneuver more. Harris was so impressive to me because she's only 6'2" but really deceptively athletic and agile. Reminded me a little bit of Nneka, who wasn't always the tallest or the strongest, but she would dance as many times as it took to get the open shot. 

Eschmeyer actually has great back to basket moves for a frosh and has the height and reach to make those work. As someone noted, Toomey had four fouls for much of that stretch, but Alex was still making the shots drop. 

All in all, this was just a really solid win, which we won by all three positions (guards, shooting guards/forwards, and bigs) making key contributions.
