With their win over the Eagles, the 49ers now have 40 postseason wins since 1946, the founding of the AAFC. 39 of those wins were in the NFL, one was in the AAFC.

The Patriots have 37, all during the Super Bowl era. The Niners have 31 postseason wins during the Super Bowl era.

If we’re counting the full pro-football postseason since WWII and including the AAFC:
San Francisco 49ers postseason wins (NFL + AAFC)

• Total postseason wins: 40
  • NFL postseason wins: 39
    
  • AAFC postseason wins: 1 (they beat the New York Yankees 17–7 in the 1949 AAFC “divisional playoffs,” then lost the AAFC title game).
    

That “40” total lines up with the recent milestone chatter: they entered the Eagles game with 39 postseason wins, and their wild-card win over Philadelphia pushed them to 40.
