I always thought it was a gamble to assume an assistant coach will be a good head coach. Sometimes it works out great but with no track record as a head coach it's difficult to predict how things will go.
I don't have a strong opinion. I've lost interest in the women's side of the sport. The officiating these days seems to put a premium on physical prowess over basketball skills and eloquence.
