Y'all really expected favorable treatment as an 11 seed?  Or even as a geographic outlier? Luck of the draw. Maybe next time Stanford should join a conference that isn't headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Or maybe get back to where you once belonged, a top 4 conference seed. They don't play until Friday. Then no one would be thinking it would be better to spend all week on the east coast, between the last regular season game and the tournament.

This is the first time ever that the ACC women's tournament has been played outside of the Carolinas. That only took 49 years. Now that you mention it, I'm a little surprised it isn't in San Jose. Gas South Arena is out in Gwinnett County northeast of Atlanta. Capacity is 13,000. Normally hosts minor league hockey and box lacrosse, whatever that is. Curious that they didn't select a venue downtown on mass transit. McCamish (8,600 capacity) is 3 blocks from the Midtown Station or State Farm Arena (17,600) is right there at the GWCC/CNN Station.  I watched some of the Duke-Carolina game and the Dean Dome looked pretty full, so they might expect decent crowds depending on who is playing.

Whomever wanted one of the Techs would only get their wish if Stanford makes the finals along with Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech.

Have to say that if Karen Blair makes any kind of noise in this tournament with the decimated roster she started with this year, she's a coach. They did lay a 30-point beating on Miami today. Actually, just getting into this tournament might mean she's a coach. Rooting for some hometown magic. Why not?
