Getting to the finals is better, but they may need to win it to get in. Net ranking right now is 42 which would be right at the bubble line without other upsets. Realistically, that is out right now, and our 8-10 in conference doesn’t help. 9-9 or 10-8 would be a lot more comfortable. Beating Miami will help exactly 0, but beating ND and NC State would be a positive though I am not sure it gets us over the hump. Beating Duke might get it done. We will see.
I'm no "bracketologist", but this seems a bit pessimistic to me. According to Charlie Creme, Stanford went from "Next 4 out" to "1st 4 out" with the win over Clemson. I agree that beating Miami (NET 58) doesn't help, but beating Notre Dame (NET 24) is a significantly bigger deal than beating Clemson (fell from NET 38 to 44). I believe that has a chance of getting them in - obviously the results of the other "bubble" teams will have an impact. And I think that following that up with a win over NC State (NET 23) would almost certainly get them in - unless the results of every other "bubble" team work against them. If they would then beat Duke (NET 10), I would be shocked if they were left out.
But first things first. Beating Miami is certainly not a given. And if they do move on, playing on consecutive days will be a challenge given what seems to have become pretty much a 7-player rotation. The 3-game mini winning streak is encouraging, but there is no margin for error at this point.
