Congrats and good luck to the Broncos. Stanford and SCU had played in fall 2021, 2023 and 2024, but not this season. It seems like an obvious annual "rivalry" game to me, given that Stanford wants to travel as little as possible in November and December.

Agreed. It makes zero sense for the teams not to play each other every year, especially given the ACC travel requirements. The Stanford v. SCU rivalry dates back to 1914, just one year less than the Cal rivalry. There was a very long stretch (2008/9 to 2019/20) when they didn't play. And Stanford has nearly a 2:1 W/L advantage over SCU over their history (52-28). Not a guaranteed win, but usually the odds were good. Even Montgomery's 7-23 team beat SCU by 31 points.
