I hope the players that didn’t give thanks to the coaches haven’t shot themselves in the foot. Don’t they realize that coaches from one team talk to the coaches of the team they are leaving? If they had a negative attitude or were rude/indifferent to the coaches, that’s going to be reported to a potentially interested team. I find it interesting that only one of the seven have found a team and I wonder how much of it is the Stanford coaches’ report on them and their attitude.

One alternate explanation: they decided to jump ship so recently, post-Lara, they haven't yet had enough time to forge serious relationships with other programs that could eventually lead to commitments to them.

I doubt it. The posts were all perfectly professional, they just omitted any nice words about the coaches. And one of the players whose post was most telling of them all, Harper Peterson, has already committed to Tennessee, so clearly she didn't have trouble finding a landing pad.

It does raise an interesting question, though - do coaches recruiting players in the portal contact the coaches from the schools they're transferring from? That feels like a weird conflict of interest and I'm not sure the coaches at the "from" school would be super excited to sell their former players, regardless, at least in instances outside of the occasional grad transfer.
