I refloat my "CTT for a year" possibility. She has loose ties to the Stanford family (thus has a friendly relationship with Tara but LOTS of distance from the program's recent half-decade-long player retention/coaching style issues and no close ties to the immediate coaching personnel she may be replacing), a great coaching pedigree of her own, and could very easily pull the Frank Reich for a season before going back to retirement and commentating.
I agree a desirable permanent coaching hire is better, but unless the AD pulls a miracle out of his hat, the notion that he will simultaneously fire KP and hire a desirable replacement feels like more than I think this administration is capable of. But we'll see!
